Manus Mentors Credit Union Professionals Around the World
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, California, April 17, 2017 – CO-OP Financial Services Chief Product and Strategy Officer Shazia Manus was honored with the Confidence Award during the Inspiring Women of Iowa event on April 5 in Des Moines. Manus had been named one of three finalists for the Confidence Award in March. Sponsored by the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa, the annual event celebrates inspiring and influential women from around the state. The Confidence Award recognizes women with positive states of mind that guide their actions.
“Shazia’s leadership within the credit union movement is proof there are great things ahead for the industry,” said Todd Clark, President/CEO of CO-OP. “Her confidence in the world’s financial cooperatives is immediately obvious to anyone who engages with Shazia, and it’s one of the many reasons we are excited to have her as a member of the CO-OP executive management team.”
Manus is the former CEO of Des Moines-based TMG, acquired by CO-OP earlier this month. She is a long-time advocate for more women in executive roles and has established herself as an innovative thinker and visionary leader in both the credit union and payments industries. Manus serves on the World Council of Credit Unions’ Global Women’s Leadership Network, mentoring several aspiring women and readily sharing her story to inspire others.
For CO-OP, Manus drives a cohesive and forward-thinking product strategy designed to help credit unions deliver a personalized, seamless and secure member experience across products, services and touchpoints. A strong believer in the cooperative spirit, Manus often encourages credit union leaders to seek out partnerships with organizations that understand the credit union philosophy.
“One thing working in the cooperative movement teaches you is when great organizations join hands to accomplish macro initiatives, something powerful and magical is bound to emerge,” said Manus.
